How do I find scholarly or peer-reviewed articles?

Answer

You can find scholarly articles in many ways. Please visit the library's website and select "Databases" under the search box to search for articles in academic databases. The best databases to find peer-reviewed or scholarly articles are Gale Academic OneFileEBSCO Academic Search Complete, and EBSCO Communication & Mass Media Collection. MC Library users can also use OneSearch, or our library catalog, to locate scholarly articles. With OneSearch, make sure that you use these limiters on the left side of the results page: Under "Resource Type" select "Articles" and under "Availability" you select "Available online" and "Peer-reviewed Journals."

If you need more assistance, speak to a Librarian by visiting the Reference Desk in-person during library hours, call the Reference Desk: 805-378-1472, email: mcreference@vcccd.edu, or text: 805-576-7552. If you would like to talk to someone about textbooks, call the Circulation Desk at 805-378-1450.
